Becky Adams, B.S.At.S. '05 posted 12/07/06
Becky Adams graduated from the Creighton Atmospheric Science Department in the Spring of 2005, with a dual major in Atmospheric Science and Math as well as a minor in Computer Science. While in Omaha, Becky enjoyed being able to further her practical weather knowledge by working as a SCEP student at the National Weather Service office in Valley. She also gained valuable research experience by undertaking a Clare Booth Luce research project dealing with sea surface temperature anomalies and dry land corn crop yields under the tutelage of Dr. Arthur Douglas. Upon graduation, Becky accepted an offer from Colorado State University and entered the Master's program there, working with Dr. Richard Johnson. Her current research focuses on using Oklahoma Mesonet data to look at pressure, temperature, and moisture transients associated with bow echoes. She also transferred her SCEP position to the National Weather Service office in Boulder, CO, and is collaborating with Robert Glancy, the Warning Coordination Meteorologist, and Nolan Doesken, the Colorado State Climatologist, to create a Colorado hail climatology over the past 10 years.

John Campbell graduated from Creighton with a B.S.At.S and a minor in Communications. John did a great job taking advantage of the various internship opportunities that exist in the Omaha area. He worked two summers at the National Weather Service office in Valley, Nebraska, and he worked for a year and a half at Omaha's ABC affiliate, KETV. After graduation, John worked in broadcast meteorology at a station in LaCrosse, Wisconsin for about two years before returning to Omaha, where he is now a broadcast meteorologist with KETV. He also contributes to the newscasts as a reporter in the field. Check out John's web page at KETV for information about what he does and the opportunies his education has provided him.
